Los Cabos, a world-renowned destination in Mexico, offers an unparalleled yachting experience. This article delves into the unique aspects of yacht trips in Los Cabos, weaving in interesting facts about this vibrant locale.
Los Cabos stands out due to its prime location, natural beauty, and well-developed tourism infrastructure, making it a preferred international yacht destination (Armendáriz, Concha, & Burrola, 2011). Yacht charters are increasingly popular among families seeking comfort and a sense of social isolation on the sea (Muslu, 2022).
The allure of Los Cabos extends beyond leisure, significantly impacting the local economy. Anglers in Los Cabos contribute considerably to retail sales and job creation, with each spending around $1,785 on various services, generating millions in revenue (Southwick, Nelson, & Arean, 2010). However, it's important to note the environmental considerations, such as the impact of golf courses on habitats and water resources (Wurl, 2019).
Los Cabos is not just about yachting; it's a blend of sports fishing, golf, and residential tourism (Montaño, Ángeles, & Pérez, 2019). Most tourists visit for rest and to explore new places, with a significant portion spending thousands on their trips (Sierra, Chavez, & Mancilla, 2018).
Given the popularity of Los Cabos, there's a growing need for a sustainable development model to maintain its allure while mitigating negative impacts on the local community and environment (Montaño & Ivanova, 2016).
Los Cabos, with its beautiful landscapes and thriving yachting culture, offers a unique blend of leisure and economic opportunity. However, sustainable tourism practices are essential to preserve its natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

The waters around Cabo are home to marine wildlife including rays, sharks, mahi-mahi (dorado), and striped marlin. Rated as one of Mexico's top tourist destinations,[5] Cabo San Lucas is known for its beaches, scuba diving locations, Balnearios, the sea arch El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, and marine life. The Los Cabos Corridor has become a heavily trafficked vacation destination for tourists, with numerous resorts and timeshares along the coast between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.
Archaeological excavations have shown evidence of continual human habitation in the area for at least 10,000 years. When the first Europeans arrived, they encountered the Pericú people, who survived on a subsistence diet based on hunting and gathering seeds, roots, shellfish, and other marine resources. They called the location Yenecamú. According to the narrative of Hatsutaro, a Japanese castaway, in the book Kaigai Ibun (written by Maekawa, Junzo, and Bunzo Sakai and narrated by Hatsutaro), when he arrived at Cabo San Lucas in May 1842, there were only two houses and about 20 inhabitants. However, American authors such as Henry Edwards and John Ross Browne claim that Cabo San Lucas's founder was an Englishman named Thomas "Old Tom" Ritchie. John Ross Browne says Ritchie arrived there about 1828, while Edwards says that he died in October 1874. The actual founder of Cabo San Lucas was Cipriano Ceseña in 1788 who arrived from Hermosillo, Sonora. Per The book by Pablo L. Martinez, Guia Familiar de Baja California, 1700–1900. A fishing village began growing in the area. In 1917, an American company built a floating platform to catch tuna, and ten years later founded Compañía de Productos Marinos S.A. The plant operated for several years.[citation needed]
I had the pleasure of fishing multiple days aboard the Big Kahuna II with Captain Roberto and Mate Kevin during my recent trip to Cabo, and I can't say enough good things about the experience. As a licensed captain and owner of a fishing charter business in the Great Lakes, I have high standards, and Lands End Charters exceeded every one of them. The crew at Lands End Charters is top-notch. Captain Roberto and Mate Kevin are true professionals, and their knowledge and expertise are evident from the moment you step on board. They made our fishing adventures not just enjoyable but also educational, sharing their insights and passion for the sea. The boat, the Big Kahuna II, was perfect for our needs having just two people fishing. Immaculately clean and well-maintained, it's clear that the team at Lands End takes great pride in their vessels. The attention to detail, from the spotless deck to the well-organized gear, speaks volumes about their commitment to providing a first-class fishing experience. All the equipment on board was in fantastic condition, and it's evident that they invest in maintaining their gear to ensure smooth and successful fishing trips. It's a level of dedication that I truly appreciate as a fellow charter boat owner. Lands End Charters in Cabo runs a fantastic operation, and I can't express enough how much I appreciate their professionalism, courtesy, and, most importantly, their ability to put us on the fish. We had a great time, and we'll undoubtedly be back to fish with them again on our next visit to Cabo. If you're looking for a fishing charter that not only meets but exceeds your expectations, I wholeheartedly recommend Lands End Charters. They are the best in the business, and I'm already looking forward to my next adventure with them. Thanks to Captain Roberto, Mate Kevin, and the entire Lands End team for making our Cabo fishing experience truly unforgettable.
The entire team at Lands End Charters is fantastic. I have fished with them for my last 7 trips. 6 of those have been on The Big Kahuna II with Capt Roberto. Capt Roberto is the best and he will put you on the fish. He is also very personable, friendly and will answer all of your questions. He has so much experience and knowledge for fishing in Cabo. The staff at Lands End Charters are very friendly and welcoming from the time you book your trip, to checking in on your fishing day, all the way up to when you disembark from the boat with your catches of the day. They also provide an excellent fish cleaning service that is located right next to their office. I have used it a few times to have the fish cleaned, to bring back to the restaurant at my resort to enjoy for dinner. The prices for an 8 hour charter are amazing and it includes everything. You even get a lunch and drinks. If you want to fish in Cabo, I highly recommend contacting Lands End Charters and specifically booking on The Big Kahuna II, but I am positive all of their boats and captains are fantastic!
If you want to catch fish in Cabo look no further! These guys are the best! I have used them for years and they always find the fish! I recently went out on the BiG Kahuna III and captain Sergio and Jose had me all over tuna within the first hour! They had the best equipment and had me catching fish all day. I will never fish with another outfitter when I am in Cabo! Lands End Charters has everything you need to catch your next trophy fish!
We booked the trip with Land's End Charters two weeks before arrival in Cabo. The guys had our fishing licenses and food ready and took us directly to the boat. The Fishy Business boat was really nice and as we expected. We trolled for a couple of hours then stopped to catch the Spanish Mackerel. We moved and then proceeded to catch Bonito! The two crew members were great guys to fish with. Would definitely use this charter again.
Had an amazing morning with Captain Juanito. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. My wife and I had an amazing time. Not to mention that we saw a rare family of whales heading north to Alaska. Richard, in the office, was the best. Super friendly and excellent service. Highly recommend Lands End Charters.
